The Crisis of Antisemitism on College Campuses

College and university campuses have long been known to be centerpoints of civil rights and social justice movements. So why is it that they are known to be sources of some of the most frequent and severe antisemitism?

Tailored specifically for university counseling centers, participants learn about how antisemitism can manifest on their campus and what they can do about it. We’ll explore the differences between protesting and antisemitism, unique vulnerability factors that Jewish students experience, and how to cultivate a counseling center culture in which every single student can feel safe and welcomed.

  • A must for counseling center staff. Before this training, I felt so overwhelmed and unprepared to handle these issues on my campus. I learned so much and can't wait to start implementing some of the things discussed.

  • This presentation should be part of every college counseling center’s ongoing training and commitment to multiculturalism! Dr. Levanda is informed, knowledgeable, and the material was balanced and evidence-based. College counseling needs to become more informed and aware of the prevalence of antisemitism on college campuses including how it fits into the geopolitical context at large. Dr. Levanda helped us understand not only how to clinically support our Jewish students facing antisemitism but also how to support our greater campus community including differentiating between activism and antisemitism. We are grateful to Dr. Levanda to share her expertise to our counseling staff and supporting our knowledge base and cultural competency.
